About Eminem
Eminem was born on October 17, 1974. His real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. He made up the nickname Eminem (pronounced M&M) from his initials. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. As a child he lived with his mom, Debbie Mathers-Briggs. He's never met his dad, because his dad left when he was only a few months old. He moved back and forth between his mother and grandmother's house, until he was 11, when he and his mom settled in Detroit. He has a younger brother, Nate, who was born in 1986. The first rap song he ever heard was "Reckless" by Ice-T, and this got him hooked on rap music. Some of his other favorite rappers growing up were the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, and Run DMC.
Em didn't get along too well with school, and he dropped out in ninth grade. Later he got jobs working as a grill cook, and busing tables. He also tried to pursue a rap career. He would rap at clubs around Detroit, but usually was dissed because of his race. Some fellow MC's were supportive however, and in 1996 he released his first album, Infinite. It was an independent underground album, but didn't go over too well (although it is excellent), because some people thought he was trying to sound like Nas. Also in 1996 was another big event for Eminem. His daughter, Hailie Jade Scott was born, who Eminem loves more than anything. Hailie's mother is Eminem's girlfriend, Kim, who he's been breaking up and making up with for 8 years. Eminem and Kim are together at the moment, but they have had lots of problems in the past.
In 1997, Eminem came up with the alias Slim Shady, and with the new name came a new style. Em's rhymes became much darker, unlike the songs on Infinite. Later in 97 he released an underground EP, The Slim Shady EP (also an excellent album). This somehow got into the hands of Dr. Dre, who loved it and signed Eminem onto Aftermath Records.
In 1998, Eminem started recording his second album, The Slim Shady LP. The album was released on February 23 of 1999, and has become a major hit. It sold 480,000 copies in it's first two weeks on sale. The album will soon go platinum. Eminem is currently busy with touring and promoting his album.

that says Hailie Jade Scott, and he has a tattooed design around his wrist.
He is said to be a perfectionist and very sarcastic. He's also really funny.
Eminem would someday like to pursue an acting career, and will supposedly be in
a hip hop horror movie called Friendz sometime in 2000.
